USA Karate Hall of Fame
2022 Administrator Criteria
The individual must have made exceptional contributions that have furthered the growth, reputation and character of the sport of karate, been active from 1978-to-2009 in the AAU or USA Karate Federation on a national or international level. This includes individuals who defined the nature of the sport or its competitive spirit, or contributed to make special contributions, in the context of their day.
2022 Athlete Criteria
The nominee must have represented the highest level of competition, sportsmanship, integrity, character and ability. They should be amongst the finest players that USA Karate Federation had from 1978-to-2009 "playing at a Hall of Fame level.” Considerations included:
· Years Active as a Competitor
· Activities in State or Local Competition
· Activities at Training Camps
· Competition at US Team Trials
· Competition at National Level
· Competition at World Championships
· Competition at Pan-American Championships
· Competition at International Cups
· Total and Quality of Medals Earned
In 2022, this is being extended to those USA National Karate-do Federation players who meet the above criteria.
2022 Coach Criteria
The nominee must have been active on the national level as part of the coaching staff of the USA Karate Federation from 1978-to-2009 and who represented the highest level of competition, sportsmanship, integrity, and character and made a major contribution to the development of the USA Karate Federation National Team. In 2022, this is being extended to those USA National Karate-do Federation players who meet the above criteria.
2022 Officials Criteria
The nominee must have represented the highest level of integrity, character and ability. They should be amongst the finest referees and judges that USA Karate Federation had from 1978-to-2009 either participating on a national or an international level. In 2022, this is being extended to those USA National Karate-do Federation players who meet the above criteria.
USA Karate Federation 2022 Pioneer Awards
Given to those already in the USA Karate Hall of Fame. USA Karate Pioneer awards are specifically to recognize contribution to the development of Olympic Karate in the USA as part of George E Anderson’s efforts in these organizations from 1978 to 2009 when he passed.
Additional Rules and Regulations
Nomination does not mean induction. You must be present to be inducted. Those nominated but not present for induction will be considered at the nest Hall of Fame. The exception to this is a deceased person.
